This episode explored how the pandemic and multiple national lockdowns have impacted the LGBTQ+ community. To explore the range of impacts, and what needs to happen going forward, we welcomed Dr Callum Phillips, LGBTQ+ Lead at The British Student Doctor and BMJ Clegg scholar, who chaired a 1-hour discussion with leading authorities in this area. The panel featured Paul Martin OBE, Chief Executive of LGBT Foundation, Lizzie Streeter, Lead for LGBT Health at NHS England and NHS Improvement, and Dr Kamilla Kamaruddin, GP in Tower Hamlets. The RSM COVID-19 Series is for health professionals, by health professionals; a series of talks dedicated to give healthcare workers on the frontline, regular and easy-to-access updates from healthcare leaders on COVID-19.
The origins of the Royal Society of Medicine date back to the 18th century when, throughout Europe, medical societies began to be founded with the object of bringing together physicians and surgeons.
