COVID-19 Series: Vaccines Episode 20 will be broadcast on zoom on Tue 9 Jun 2020 from 12:30pm to 1:00pm.
Key speakers:
Professor Robin Shattock, Head of Mucosal Infection and Immunity at Imperial College London.
Dr Thomas Breuer, Chief Medical Officer at GSK Vaccines.
A safe and effective vaccine against COVID-19 is generally regarded as the only way out of the current crisis, especially if a widely predicted second wave develops.
A number of groups around the world are urgently working to develop a vaccine using a variety of different strategies, but once it is developed and tested, how it will be manufactured at large scale, when will it become available, and how will it be priced and distributed in an equable way around the world?
RSM President-Elect Roger Kirby will be posing these and other questions to Professor Robin Shattock, Head of Mucosal Infection and Immunity at Imperial College London and Dr Thomas Breuer, Chief Medical Officer at GSK Vaccines.
