We will hear first-hand accounts from Dr Alison Pittard OBE, Dean of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine and consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and Dr Gary Masterson, Past-President of the Intensive Care Society and consultant in Critical Care Medicine at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
Chaired by Professor Nik Patel, consultant cardiologist at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and chair of the RSM’s Academic Board, the discussion will cover current mortality rates, the impact of new treatments, challenges in ventilator capacity, the impact of the second wave on staff and services, as well as predictions for the winter.
